reCalled ("we," "our," or "us") provides intelligent call management and AI-powered insights. Our service is built on a Privacy-First Hybrid Architecture, designed to ensure you maintain ownership of your conversations with absolute data minimization.
1. Permissions & Data Usage
To provide automated services as explained in our prominent in-app disclosures, reCalled requires the following permissions:
- Call Detection: To identify call events and trigger automated transcription locally.
- Contact Names: To resolve phone numbers into names within your private local history.
- File Storage Access: To locate and read call recordings from your selected device folder.
- Appear on Top (Overlay): To display summary insights immediately after your call finishes.
- Notifications: To alert you when background processing or cloud-enhanced results are ready.
2. Data Minimization & Instant Deletion
We do not build profiles or store your conversations. Our collection practices are strictly limited to:
- Account Identifiers: We store only your Email Address via Firebase Authentication to manage your service tier and quotas.
- Security & Routing: We process your IP Address solely for security purposes and to determine coarse geographic location for routing to the nearest processing center.
- Instant Cloud Purge: All cloud-uploaded audio files and transient transcription jobs are automatically and permanently deleted from our servers immediately after the processing is complete and the result is delivered to your device. We do not maintain any cloud copies of your audio or transcripts.
3. Hybrid AI Architecture
We utilize two modes of operation to maximize your privacy:
- Offline Mode: All Speech-to-Text and Summarization is performed locally on your device. Audio recordings never leave your phone.
- Online Mode: Users may opt-in to cloud-enhanced processing for higher accuracy. This uses temporary Secure Signed URLs to ensure audio is sent directly to encrypted storage for immediate, transient processing.
4. Cloud Security
- Secure Handshake: We utilize a "Signed-URL" pipeline ensuring that sensitive infrastructure credentials are never stored on your mobile device.
- Local Storage: Your call history, transcripts, and summaries are stored in a secure local database (Room) on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all this data.
5. AI Technology Disclosure
The Application utilizes advanced Artificial Intelligence to convert speech to text and generate insights:
- On-Device Intelligence: Local models handle translation, entity extraction, and offline summarization.
- Cloud AI Partners: We partner with specialized AI providers for high-accuracy transcription. Data processed by these partners is strictly used for the requested task and is not used to train third-party models.
6. Service Tiers & Quotas
reCalled provides different service tiers (Guest, Signed-In, and Pro). Cloud-based processing is subject to limits (quotas) measured in conversation seconds. Usage metadata is stored securely to ensure fair access to resources.
7. Account & Data Deletion
In accordance with Google Play policies, we provide transparent options for you to manage and delete your data:
- In-App Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated profile metadata directly through the Settings menu within the application. On unins
- Web-Based Request: If you cannot access the app, you may request account and data deletion by emailing hello@getrecalled.in.
- Data Purge: Upon account deletion, we immediately remove your Email address from our records and purge all associated cloud metadata (tiers, quotas, and preferences).
8. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or maintain personal information from children. Since we do not store transcripts or audio in the cloud, we do not possess a database of personal communications belonging to minor users. If we discover an account belongs to a child under 13, we will terminate the account and delete the associated email address immediately.
